What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is a fitness regimen that uses constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity over a specific period of time. Now, when we say functional movements, that means that we take the way your body should and can move - and then add weight to those movements, making your daily activities significantly easier. By employing a constantly varied approach to training, functional movements and intensity lead to dramatic gains in fitness.
The reason CrossFit is such a versatile and effective program is because we can make modifications to the load and intensity of certain exercises; but we don’t change the program. That makes the same exact workout effective for both beginners and professional athletes! Overall, the aim of CrossFit is to forge a broad, general and inclusive fitness supported by measurable, observable and repeatable results through proper exercise.
Why Salt de Terre?
Liking the people you’re with is essential to enjoying any activity. And when you have instructors who know what they’re doing, and know the types of movements and modifications that work best for your body, you can’t lose! Salt de Terre loves being a part of the Riverside community and serving the greater Jacksonville area. Working with people form all stages in life brings such a rewarding and well-rounded group of people who can connect through fitness, but grow through compassion. The community that spontaneously arises when people do these workouts together is a key component of why CrossFit is so effective - its the accountability to self and others that makes it work so well.

Introducing Barbell Club!
We are thrilled to announce that we will be launching CFSDT’s first ever Barbell Club led by Coach Mike Esposito, winner of the International Beach Games, Southern States Championships, Florida State Championships, and Florida Sunshine State Games.
Barbell Club begins Monday, November 26, 2018 and will be held weekly on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6-7 or 7:30pm. Supplemental programming will be provided for use during open gym hours on Saturdays (10am to Noon). Programming will include both Powerlifting and Olympic Lifting techniques and will aim to improve lifting speed, proficiency and strength as well as review strategies for meet prep and performance. Cost will be $150 for CFSDT members and $180 for non-members. The club will consist of a 13 week training cycle concluding with a USA Powerlifting Meet on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at CrossFit Steel Mill in Jacksonville.
Meet fees are not included in barbell club membership. To participate, athletes must commit to the full 13 weeks and can choose to pay monthly, or in advance. Club will be capped at 20. Only 10 spaces left. For more details and/or to sign up, email Amy at email@example.com.
